Travel and Transport

Directions from Dublin Airport

  1. Follow the signs for the M50 motorway heading southbound.
  2. Leave the Motorway at Junction 9 which brings you onto the Red Cow roundabout.
  3. Take the N7 South (Naas Dual carriage way), driving in the direction of Waterford, Limerick. This will automatically turn to the M7.
  4. Leave the M7 at Junction 11 and take the M9 Waterford/ Kilkenny.
  5. Continue along the M9 – and exit off the Motorway at Junction 8 (Signposted: Kilkenny N10.)
  6. At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto the N10.
  7. At the next roundabout take the 1st exit onto the N77. (Signposted: Clonmel, City Centre)
  8. At the Dublin Road roundabout take the 1st exit onto the R712 (Signposted: Gowran, Paulstown)
  9. You will come to a small roundabout at Cillin Hill, take the second exit.
  10. Lyrath Estate is located approximately 700m from here on your left hand side.

Directions from Cork

  1. Follow the N8 to Mitchelstown.
  2. From Mitchelstown take the M8 Motorway.
  3. Exit at Urlingford and continue along the R693 towards Freshford.
  4. From Freshford continue in the direction of Kilkenny.
  5. Continue past St. Luke’s Hospital and at the roundabout take the 1st exit.
  6. At the next roundabout take the first exit and over Greens bridge.
  7. You will reach another roundabout take the 2nd exit.
  8. At the next roundabout take the 1st exit.
  9. The next roundabout take the third exit.
  10. Straight through the next roundabout.
  11. At the Dublin Road Roundabout take the 1st exit for Gowran/ Paulstown (R712).
  12. Continue out along this road go straight through the roundabout at Cillin Hill.

Directions from Rosslare Harbor

  1. Take the N25 from Rosslare towards New Ross.
  2. From New Ross head towards Waterford.
  3. From Waterford pick up the M9 Motorway.
  4. Exit the Motorway at Junction 9.
  5. Take the 1st exit at the roundabout as you come off the motorway for Kilkenny (N10).
  6. At the next roundabout take first exit straight through again for Kilkenny (N10).
  7. At the Waterford Road roundabout take the 3rd exit.
  8. The next roundabout is the Statestreet or Bohernatounish roundabout here you take the 2nd exit.
  9. At the Bennetsbridge roundabout take the 2nd exit.
  10. At the Dublin Road roundabout take the 3rd exit for Gowran /Paulstown (R712).
  11. Continue out along this road go straight through the roundabout at Cillin Hill.
  12. Lyrath Estate is located approximately 700m from here on your left hand side.

Train Service

Dublin Heuston to Kilkenny

The 747 bus leaves Dublin Airport Terminals every 10/15 minutes (20 minutes on Sundays) and arrives at Heuston train station an hour later. Costing an Adult €7.00 (single), €11.00 (return).

You can then Purchase an open return ticket for €36.50 at the train station.

From there you can enjoy a relaxing journey to Kilkenny with a coffee dock service on board.

Once you’re off the train, you can ‘Free Now’ a taxi straight to the Lyrath or use any of the local Kilkenny taxi services.

The Luas (Irish for “speed”) is a tram/light rail system in Dublin, Ireland. There are two main lines: the Green Line, and the Red Line, allowing easy travel around Dublin with a low cost starting from €1.44, running every few minutes. The luas departs right outside Heuston station and tickets can be purchased at machines at each stop.
