"Making Fetch Happen"

The Fetch API has been a favorite of front-end developers for many years. It has a rich history of providing a great developer experience for network requests. Bringing the Fetch API to the back-end has had an equally rich history, and as of Node.js v18 we can all finally celebrate; we made Fetch happen! This talk highlights the history of the Fetch API, the ideals of universal JavaScript, and the efforts and achievements of bringing it to Node.js and other JavaScript runtimes.
